ok my motherboard doesnt support SErial ATA devices. Is there any way i can get an adapter for SATA jacks.

Look for a serial ata to parallel ata interface adapter.

A well made adapter can cost anywhere from $25 to
$35 and they do take up some space on the back of
the drive.

If this is in regard to the newegg mistake, if I was you
I would set aside the sata drive until you get a mobo
with the sata connector and buy another 80Gb pata
drive for a few dollars more. I personally dont think
the adaptors at the prices I saw were a better idea over
buy a drive that connects right up. Just MO.............

If you have a pci slot available, a pci sata controller card is
another way to go like mentioned above.

The cheapest I saw was for about $21. If you plan on keeping
the setup for awhile I would go with a Promise controller and
the cheapest was about $45.
