My Laptop won't turn on...

Whenever I power up, the screen just stays black. The power icon lights up as if it was on, but it won't do anything. It's been like this for a week, what's wrong with it?

could it be possible you turned your screen so dark that everything is black? is there a button to adjust that or anything?

if not, your laptop's monitor (or gfx card?) might be dead

oh, and are the hard drives spinning and does your laptop makes the noise it usually makes when it's turning on?

Yes, it makes the noise. I don't think you can adjust the brightness...

Your screen has passed away. Let's give ourselves a moment of silence. lol. Your XGA[or SXGA or WXGA] has died lol. Best solution, buy a cheap monitor, install it, or buy a new laptop.

Or first try connecting a monitor or TV. Whatever your laptop allows you to do. Check if something comes on[make sure it's at the right channel]. If nothing comes on, it's your graphic card. If something does appear, your monitor is screwed.
