SMART=DUMB there is no difference on or off .
if your hard wants to lose data it will no matter what your option is i had a hard issue back in time and this option did not help

Well, keep it turned off in your case. I don't thikn it would help you anyway. I'll keep it enabled for our employees. When they see the warning, all I can do is hope they call IT to let them know. If it isn't on, I know for sure they won't call. At least with it enabled there is a chance of saving data.

Since there is no difference, then tell me why I should have it disabled? I'd like to hear a good reason for not enabling it since it is "DUMB"
