Well, basically I want to install winXP, never had such a problem as this... Win2k has my hard drive setup as NTFS or something of that nature... using winME boot disk (to get into dos) it doesn't see the drive, how can i go about formatting and doing a clean install of winxp?

make your cd-rom boot before the hard disks and put your win2000 or winxp CD in the cd-rom drive. when you boot your machine you will enter the setup utility. use it to delete and make partitions.

If that doesn't work, then I would try and aquire a bootdisk for Windows 98. Sounds funny, but I keep one in my "tool kit" at all times. It always comes in handy when re-formatting seems to be the only solution. I know that you can get one from www.bootdisk.com. Once you format in FAT32 and start the install for XP, you can then choose to convert to NTFS.
