LCD screen Resolution

I have an old IBM 17" screen which supports upto 800 by 600 screen resolution, can anyone tell me how to increse its resolution support. I know that its internal hardware needs to be changed

how old is the screen? you should be able to change it by: right clicking on the desktop, properties, than settings.

IF 800X600 is the biggest resolution, I don't think that it can be forced higher, as it won't show anything.

Well i have done it on an IBM LCD screen on a 15". It can be done . All what is req is to change the controller in the LCD panel

You can't go any higher then the monitor/hardware lets you

And you should NEVER, I repeat NEVER MOD THE INSIDE OF A MONITOR UNLESS YOU ARE A CERTIFIED ELECTRICIAN (or someone like that)
