HI
Does the new Celeron 3.06 come in 512k cashe and will it fit into a 478 socket? and does it have Hyper Threeding? and did they make one like this? and if they did where can I get it?
I have a friend that said all the above and I told him he's on crack
so is he right or wrong
I know what I read and it was 256K cashe and a 775 socket without HT
I was think of buying one
Thanks guys
:D

If it's socket 775 there is no way it will fit in a 478 board,And i'm pretty sure that it doe's not have Hyper Threading,You can get the Celeron D in socket 478 but i think the highest one you can buy is 2.93ghz but i'm not too sure on it,But you are right it only has a 256k L2 cache and a 533mhz FSB

Naw get a Pentium, much much better than a Celeron. A lower spec P4 for the same price as the Celeron will probably perform better than the Celeron.

Biggest Celeron D, as per Shumway:

$113.99 @ NewEgg

Closest comparable GHz Pentium 4:

$179.49 @ NewEgg

Biggest monster that comes in 478:

$999.99 @ NewEgg

If you're FSB max is 400, the biggest you can get is 2.2

If you're FSB max is 533, the biggest you can get is 3.06

That Pentium 4 will be much better than the Celeron if your motherboard supports the FSB of 800Mhz.

cache="cawk" (lol...)
cache DOESNT equal "cash" as some ppl pronounce it

oh, and celeron is crap
