What dimm slots optimize the best performance for ram?

What slots are best to use, to get the most out of dual channel memory

If you got 4 slots, I think you gotta run the RAM in slots 1 and 3, or 2 and 4, or 1 2 3 and 4. As for performance, it won't make a difference as long as it's running in dual channel. So there's no difference between using slots 1 and 3, and slots 2 and 4.

so it has to go evens, odds, like you couldn't go 1 and 4, or 2 and 3, am I right?
