XP pro versus 2000 pro

i searched for this but oddly could'nt find much.

anyway, i need to reformat my drive with an os. im debating on going with either xp pro or 2000 pro. i dont need many features, as i run a "skeleton" version now on xp with minimal services.

im mainly curious about the speed of 2000 pro versus xp pro and memory management. thanks!
 
XP is heavily based on the NT & 2000 core. Both are very stable and handle memory equally as well. Again, as far as speed goes both will do wonderfully. Note that 2K Pro does not correctly utilise Pentiums Hyper Threading technology if you plan on using a HT enabled processor. If you don't need the bells and whistles of XP then I'd go with 2K Pro.
