hi,
I have over 20 folders on my windows root with names similar to "$NtUninstallKB828741$". What are these folders? Do I need to keep them or should I delete them? This has probably been addressed here before, but a search of the folder name came up with nothing for me.
Thanks for the help!

They contain un-install information for the installed Windows updates. You can remove them (I think) but you won't be able to undo the updates, dunno exactly.

As long as you dont want to remove the hotfixes and updates that are pushed out from MS, you can delete them. To make it really clean, you need remove the registry entried for the
uninstall programs wizard too.

HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall
Total space is 400+ MB if I recall...
Good luck

Thanks... I'll probably leave them, but at least I know what they are and how to remove them properly. Thanks for the registry entrie too Inaris!
