I am building a new computer, my first and i have some questions about memory. All you gamers will be disapointed but for my situation i got a Intel P4 3.0 and a Asus P4P800 SE Motherboard. I also got a WD 80GB hard drive. I am stealing a Video Card from my parents computer do to lack of funds it is a 128 DDR ATI Radeon 9700 TX. I am wondering what i should do for memory I will game but computer is for large engineering programs. So what kind and how much memory do you recomend. Or even help about build first computer is good.

I hear OCZ and Corsair are decent, also I've heard GSkill is good for overclocking, but it seems like its hard to find

Corsair and Kingston are very good. If you're not overclocking then the value select series from Corsair really is good value.

Should i get a 1G or 2x512 i will be using large programs that i would like to run fast. oh yeah an asus P4P800 SE mobo

Definitely 2X512mb sticks. Get a twin pack off of newegg of 2 512mb PC-3200 ram sticks and you should be good. Just get whatever ram fits into your budget. If you can afford it get some nice ram, but since you probably won't be overclock some <$100 value ram will do just fine. I would stick to corsair, kingston, or OCZ myself. Corsair is my fav.
