bad files=stupid windows

i downloaded or partially downloaded a movie file and i cannot delete it. i have rebooted the computer and no programs are using it although when i delete it windows tells me a program is using it. i made a copy in another directory and i cant delete that one either. very annoying and taking up much space on my computer. what can i do?

dont download movies....or try doing it in safe mode.

of coz you cant del the file if its partially downloaded. There might be a background services running which is keeping that file as a record. Did you tried to delete it thru safe mode? coz safe mode only runs default services required by Windows.
