How Do i Burn a File to my DvD?

hi guys,
i wana how i can burn a video file on my computer to a cd. I bot a bunch of CD-R's buht when i tried to burn it, the file was bigger then the cd. So i went out and bought a stack of DVD-R's. When i tried to burn, it said i needed a cd-r. Do i just need to buy a cd'r that is biggeR? or is there a way i can use my dvd'rs.

what do you have just a cd burner. if you only have that then you cant use the dvd-r to use them you have to have a dvd burner.

You cant burn just any video files to a DVD. You have to burn DVD video files to it if you want it to read in a DVD player. Such extentions are .vob, .bup, .ifo. You can get these files from a DVD with DVD decrypter. It's free. Download it here.

umm the dvd decrypter only puts a a dvd to make a file on my comp. i need other way around >_>
