is there anything wrong with refurbished processors. i was looking at this one. i need one with a fsb speed of 800 mhz and this was the cheapest i could find. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-116-185R&depa=0

but i also just noticed that the mobo ill be using is socket 478 and i think that proccesor says its something else?

That CPU will not work with your motherboard. The CPU is a LGA775, and your motherboard is a 478. Dang that is cheap!

They are not really refurbs. They are returns. Probably because the original buyer wanted socket 478 not 775. I bought that one and i got got the manuals the box and the HSF included for 142.99

1: it wont work with your motherboard. thats first thing.

2: processors, even if OLD. retain their absolute performance through out. so not to worry as if you are buying one.

I am guessing this is the case because you CANNOT REFURB a processor.
