LCD is definitely better than CRT in terms of eyes-friendly. CRT generates Gamma Radiation but LCD dun. I can stay in front of the LCD screen for hours without getting much tired, but i cant do that on CRT display for more than 4 hrs (chest pain).
But do note if ur LCD is a XGA, SXGA or UXGA interface. XGA is cheapest of the trio. For 15" LCD, 400:1 contrast ratio and 260cd is more than enuff. Philips 150S4 is a SXGA interface, i believe its phrasing out by a newer version but runs on XGA interface.
