Which graphics card is better?

First of all, do motherboards come in only one type of slot? Or does a pci-e motherboard also come with AGP slot?

I'm deciding between getting a X800 XL and a 6800GT.

X800 XL specs($300):
CLOCK SPEED: 400MHz
MEMORY CONFIGURATION: 980MHz 256MB 256-bit GDDR3


6800GT specs($400):
CLOCK SPEED: 350MHz
MEMORY CONFIGURATION: 1000MHz 256MB 256-bit GDDR3

If pci-e motherboards do come with AGP slots as well, which card would be best to get?

U can buy both cards in pci-e, the 6800gt is better..

6800 GT. It supports Pixel Shader 3, and is slightly faster in games even in Pixel Shader 2.0 mode.

However, the X800XL is almost as good as the 6800GT (except in Doom 3), and is $100 cheaper.

Good card that will last you a while: 6800 GT
Bang for the buck: X800XL

the 6800 GT is roughly equal in Direct3D, but really excels in OpenGL
plus it has smartshader 3.0

If you want to save the money the x800 xl is the better deal. It will power through any game anyway.

My vote = x800 xl
