Altering the start menu, the hard way !

Hello

I want to alter the 'DELL Solution Center' link that i have on my start menu.

Where can i find the image, so i can change it, and where would i find the html link, so i can have it open another link instead of the DELL site.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Go to regedit and type in dell solution center, it should come right up.

Can you post a screen shot of the registry entries?

Once you have entered regedit, and typed dell solution center into "find", there will be a "default" entry. Double click that, and you will see the text "Dell Solution Center" ..change it to what you want.

Also, I think the image is located in c:\DELL, cant tell you exactly where though.

I managed to change the name, thanks for that, but that little Dell image is not in the C:\DELL folder, i had tried that before, as well as C:\WINDOWS\PCHealth\HelpCtr\System_OEM, but still no joy in finding it.

Look for the image in the c:\WINDOWS\system32.

Or do what i did get a copy of Xp with none of that dell crap just simple xp pro

Brilliant Idea.

Why didn't i think of that sooner, absolutely amazing, in fact the next time my system breaks down i'll just go and buy a new one, in fact why don't i go and treat myself to a new car while i'm at it.
