ATI or NVidia?

I replaced an ATI-built 9800 Pro with an Nvidia 6600GT a few weeks ago. (AGP cards of course.) My 3DMark03 and 3DMark05 numbers went up by 30%. Downloaded the latest forceware drivers and they went up a little bit more. NewEgg had the Leadtek 6600 GT for US$189 shipped a week or two ago. I must say that Gigabyte card looks mighty nice, too, and no cooling fan.

Best Card AGP = ATI Radeon X800XT Platinum Edition 520MHz/560MHz
Best Card PCI-e= ATI Radeon X850XT Platinum Edition 540MHz/580MHz

I've got my X800XT OC'd to 580MHZ / 600MHz
(Also have a Artic-Cooling Silencer 4 Fan&HS) wouldn't try these speeds with the stock cooler.... )

So far, So perfect...

?

What the heck does it mean when people say bump on tthe threads anyway...?

But you might find those to be a wee bit more expensive than either the 9800 Pro or 6600GT. (And in some cases, more expensive than the other two combined.)

lol

I think best buy and those canadian stores must be overcharging you fellas

on newegg here are some prices I find:

9800 pro: $158
9800 SE: $115
6600: $116
6600 GT: $179

That's why I don't buy from best buy. Look at the price comparison, they really rip you off.

Brings this thread back to the top of the list which wasn't really needed at all in this situation....I believe he's gotten all the answers he's needed and is on the verge or has already made a decision
