Does this make sense?

Someone told me that they know someone who saw an AMD 2100+ (maybe a 2200+) out preform an Intel Pentium 4 2.8ghz. I'm assuming that all other specs were equal. I'm pretty sure theres no way this is true. And if anyone could back me up/prove me wrong, that would be great. BTW, I dont want this to turn into a ghey AMD vs Intel debate, its pointless, that would do anything but help me, thanks.

My 3200 outperforms the p4-e 3.8ghz 1ml2, also outperforms the operton 152.

Sandra on my overclocked xp1600(clocked at xp2000) is comparible to the p4-b 2.66ghz 512k l2.

My overclocked system:
6941mips
2640mflops

Intel proc:
6994 Mips
3587 mflops

I dunno, i didn't benchmark my system before i overclocked. It should get 9500-10000mips ish. So ya, that would put it at p4 3.2-3.6

AMD CPU's will perform better in some areas and not as good in others against an Intel CPU
also, it depends on the motherboard, chipset, video card (but not in all tests) RAM, hard drive speed, the state in which your OS is in, how fragmented your hard drive is etc....
