Well can anyone answer me what is response time?

it's how fast the pixels change color. you want some fast <16ms. the samsung 710n has a 12ms response time, very fast.

The new Sony SDM's have XBRITE technology in them. The glossy picture makes images look a lot sharper; so if you plan on doing any visual work, I'd check that out. The Samsung is an awesome LCD, response time is outstanding.

Yes if you are a gamer get a LCD Monitor with a low Response Time eg 8/12Ms

I got a LG L1730S as well. I'm happy with it.

One of the things I looked for at the store, besides price and specs, was how the color tones looked, and how 'real' video looked on it. The L1730S was IMHO just about the best one all around in that price range for those 2 considerations.

Some of the other ones had good specs but didn't look as clean when playing video and such...

i'm a gamer, so this LCD looks good. CRTs are just too big and don't look as nice, in my opinion

ur comparing apples and oranges. IMO Lcd's have advanced enough for people to seriously consider them over CRT's, they will only get better
