CPU temperature

ok that pc wizard is the best. but i guess my mobo really doesnt have a sensor for temp bc i dont get a temp reading but i do get cpu and fsb. ok my cpu says 1993.53 mhz and my fsb says 99.68 mhz. is that good?

Does CPU-Z display the temp? I have it downloaded, but I don't believe it does.

It could definitely be a bad sensor. If BIOS reads 36-37, I'm sure you're fine.

theyre ok, rcsavageboy, but for a gaming pc you should get a mobo supporting 200 mhz fsb. 100 sounds right for some older mobos.

I really hope im fine. 71 sounds way too much. The temp wouldnt raise tham much from 37 to 71 just loading WinXP, could it?

No, going from 31 to 71 is impossible. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it at all ;)

Socket A is an AMD socket, also known as Socket 462.

By the way, the PC Wizard program is great.

with PC wizard, it say my CPU temp is 25, mobo is 35, and power is 71. So maby the other programs were mistraking the PSU sensor with the CPU temp. It's possible, isnt it?

ok but on new egg it says this.

Supported CPU: Intel Pentium® 4/Celeron Processors(HT, Prescott Ready)
Chipset: Intel 865PE + ICH5R
FSB: 800/533/400MHz

IDE: 2x ATA 100 up to 4 Devices
Slots: 1x AGP 8X/4X, 5x PCI, 1x ASUS Wi-Fi

Onboard LAN: Marvell 88E8001 Gigabit Ethernet
Onboard SATA/RAID: 2 x Serial ATA by ICH5R, RAID 0/1

wouldnt that mean that it has like 522 mhz average?

Yeah, it's definitely possible that they're mixing it up...that sounds much more realistic.

What kind of processor do you have rcsavageboy?

the 400 is based on a quad pumbed pentium 4. So the FSB is really 100, but effective is 400. With 533 its really 133, and with 800 its really 200

PC Wizard says my CPU fan speed is 191 RPM
