processes can not be ended

hello every one, here is the thing:

it all started someday where i started noticing that sometimes I just cant end a hanged program even by ending its process.

In my fight against this i lost my operating system when i tried to reinstall the sevice pack to solve it..
Anyway I installed a new system Xp pro SP2 again it was fine But one day it started again i just cant find the cause i also noticed Very slow or even unable to restart Windows when it happens

Help please if any one have seen this problem before

adware/spyware/viruses? you have checked for them all, right?
run checkdisk lately?

yes i have Kaspersky full updates and use adaware i dont think its about malwares.. do you think its related to HD

Check the HDD's connecters, Although it's not going to be that I wouldn't imagain so, it's just I had a strange noise coming from my PC and I knew it was the HDD - I was wondering if it was faulty or somewhat.

The problem was the SATA cable had come out of the socket a tiny bit and was making beasty noises..
