that be a very nice setup, as ur doin video edittin an intel chip is the ONLY way to go. might be a idea to lower ur graphics card abit and buy faster/more ram, maybes get a 6600 or 6600gt that would do u fine, and maybes get an extra 512mb or even a gig if u can afford.

edit. itll be better for u to get a western digital raptor and put ur operating system on there and get a say a 300-400gig drive for everything else. would be wise to get them sata aswel.

Do you work for that store? If not why are you posting to an expensive store.

Also yes 256 meg in value cards is too trick noobs

Since you are doing video editing, and since you have a bit of money to speed, I recommend going with a couple of Western Digital Raptor 10,000RPM drives. This will lead to faster recording times and faster file access.

I'd recommend getting one small 36GB one as your primary for Windows and all your other applications, and then getting two 74GB ones, and setting them up in a RAID 0 array. It may not be as big as 200GB, but you'll notice huge load time differences.

If i get the 36gb HD for my OS, and apps, and keep my music and video files on another HD is it a big deal if my music/video HD is @ 7200 rpm as opposed to 10,000, I mean i can save by getting a 200gb @ 7200 whereas ill only get a 74gb @ 10,000. Is it more important that the program or the file is on the faster drive...actually whats wrong with just having the 200gb HD??? Won't that be fast enough to capture video from tv, dvd and VHS im sure there are people who do it with 5400, and is it more important to have the video card to capture video and edit it?

Can you guys recommend a video card, You dont seem to like my ATI x800 L @ 256mb, which i figured would allow me to capture video as well as play games...what is a better card for the same price (294).

PS ... I have ATI TV Tuner USB 2.0 tuner, will that only work with ATI graphics cards?

ps...so is it two 76gb rapters or one rapte rand one huge drive for all my video/music files???!?!?!?!?!

PS i'm doing video editing for home use and teaching, I'm not doing this for professional movies or anything...any good software I can get as well?
