how to get pass xp password

how do you get pass the xp password because my parents forgot what there password was lol. i remmember there was a program that you can run, i believe in dos that will hack it. any other ideas to get past this

have you tried booting into safe mode and loggin on with the built in Admin account that doesn't have a password?
