is this a rip or a good deal? and if i forgot any pieces then tell me plz and if i chose the wrong parts.

oh boy...where do i start?

first, get the NEC 3520A dvd-rw drive, it's better than your choices and a lot cheaper (you really only need 1 drive, 2 drives is also ok)

second, you have a huge hard drive, do you SERIOUSLY need all that space?

third, you don't need a network ethernet card, the motherboard already have 1 or 2 gigabit or 10/100 lab ports

fourth, you COULD replace that asus-sli mobo with the better dfi lanparty ut ultra-d SLI

fifth, you could get an amd 64 3200+/3400+ and overclock it past 3500+ speeds, there's no point in getting the 3500 (unless you've got the money, then go for it)

sixth, don't get fooled by the name, TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY DOLLARS for a sound card? all you really need is a low-end turtle beach sound card

seventh, don't get the arctic cooling, instead, look for something called the "XP-90," it's much better from what i've heard

eighth, if you went with all those suggestion, you'll have enough money to get either 2 6800gt (overkill though) or a 6800 ultra

ninth, that case has a sh!tty power supply (DO NOT GET THAT CASE), you'll need something that supports SLI and is 24pin and delivers nice ampage through 12V (someone please suggest one, one that i can think off the top of my head is PCP&C 510, but that's $200+) and get a case seperately (all you need to do is screw the PSU into the case, it took me more time finding my screwdriver than actually installing my psu)

wow...i wish i had a budget like yours. everything looks compatible. what will you be using the computer for? gaming?

Don't get the asus a8n-sli. I've used the asus, and the gigabyte k8nxp-sli.. I prefer the gigabyte over the asus, better layout, higher quality, and less issues. I've never used a DFI before, but i havent heard anything bad yet.

Make sure you get a processor with the winchester core.

If you want to go all out on your sound card, i suggest the M-Audio Firewire-410, M-Audio firewire Audiophile, Audiophile 192. I borrowed a firewire-410 from work to test some games on last wensday till the following monday. I broke down and bought it by friday.

get the saitek gamers keyboard (it has backlit keys), pretty sweet looking.

would this case be ok? A-Top XBlade Black/Silver Ultimate Gaming Machine With 450W PSU & Side window, Model "AT859A-BK" - Retail

if it isnt can you recomend a case that has a side window and a red or blue neon light?

wat cooling system? and is this power supply ok? A+GPB/Athena Power 550W EPS12V Power Supply, Model "AP-P4ATX55FE"

If you decide to get the k8nxp-sli get the antec true 550 eps. I'm not sure if the dfi sli motherboard has eps connection on the motherboard. Otherwise get the True 550 non-eps (or whatever the next level down is, 460 i think.)
