hi everyone, im building a computer this summer on a budget and i wan't to know what is better for socket 939 the athon 3500+ or the athlon 3200+ cuz i was looking at some benchmarks and they preforme very similar but the price is about $120 (canadian) more for the 3500+

get the 3200+ like dj-chris said. the 3500+ slightly performs better than the 3200+ they are pretty close. and it saves you money

If you have the money, i suggest the 3500. If not the 3200 works great. If your going to OC, then make sure you get a 3200/3500 Winchester. They are 90nm, unlike socket 754 witch are 130nm. Even my 4000 is a 130nm: (... Same with FX's.

The differience between the 130nm and 90nm, obviously is size. Since the 90nm are smaller, they dont have the extra 40nm of heat. What do you think has more body temputure standing outside in 20 degree celcius weather. Me or a 8 year old child? Obviously me. So for OC Winchesters are better, since they are smaller, witch makes them run cooler.

I think the 3500+ overclocks better in the Winchester core
they tested G.Skill RAM with an Athlon 64 3200+ and 3500+, and got better overclocks with the 3500+

the Pentium 4's FSB is not high enough for the overclocks made by G.Skill RAM (2 x 600MHZ dual channel)
