Well there is usually so very much personal opinion involved in cases and fans that I left it out. I don't know if he wants big or small or led's or sexy or plain or loud or quiet or what.

1x 1 gig stick of at least 3200 ram around $200(itll be more expensive than 512x2 but will work about the same and will be very future proof)

onboard sound(unless you really care which i dont)

Total cost: $1,250

some people may disagree but this is a GREAT system except you might want to switch around the mobo for something else. hard drive should be big enough unless you have 5 kajillion songs and 250+ hours of tv you want to store. and most people will disagree with me about the ram but 2 sticks of 512 will not be much better than 1 stick of 1 gig and youll be able to throw another gig in later
