Nope 2.4GHZ is lowest they produce I think

aspire.comptech for the money my system is quite a bit better, 1.8GHZ Intel vs 2400+ Mobile and a 6600GT vs FX5600

If you're going for cheap, check out my sig.

I am running an eMachine (yes, eMachine) that I bought two years ago at WallyWorld for $494, including monitor. I have bumped the memory from 128MB to 512MB (about $70). I have added a DVD drive (WallyWorld, $45). And I have dropped in a graphics card (an old one, $60 @ Best Buy).

If you add it up, you get $669, but the components would be dirt cheap right now, if you could even find them. I have run HL2 on this thing, so I know it doesn't take a fortune to build a decent computer.

How would this work for a gamer like me?
Case:enermax CS-1251-B Black ATX Case /w 350w PSU /w Side Window - 54.90
CPU+MOBO:Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz (533 FSB) Box CPU w/ ECS 848P-A Motherboard - 124.99
Hard Drive: Maxtor 120GB 6Y120L0 Diamond Max UATA133 Hard Drive - 89.99
RAM: Geil 1GB PC3200 Dual DDR - 99.99

Video card: Either the EVGA or XFX. The XFX is 10% faster on the ram, but less people like it. Their RMA is kinda a hastle (know from experince)

CPU: AMD 35watt 2400+ mobile. Great overclocker, and with it's support for older ram and not DDR400, this makes overclocking EASY. Can give the 3.8ghz p4 a run for it's money.

89$

MOBO: Some model of the abit nf-7

RAM: Just any stick that you can find. Corsair Value select or some other ram would be a good ram.
50$ a stick, you only need 1, but suggest to upgrade to 2 later.

Heatsink: This is a good one. I have SKT 939 version and it rocks. Will handle your overclockign goodness

Power Supply: Thermaltake TD-420AD. Nice power and Nice price

Case: Whatever, use a peice of plyword for what I care.

EDIT: This is 486 Dollars with one stick of 512 Ram. Use the other 120$ for more ram, or fans and a case. Oh yeah, i forgot a hard drive, get one at your discretion, and you most likely have a spare CD-ROM laying around.

Please note that this setup is one made for overclocking, since mobile chips run extremely cool and stable, they can give a 3.8GHZ Intel a run for it's money when overclocked

I would chose a different HS with another fan here I'll look maybe a different cpu and mobo

Naw, for the CPU cooler get a zalman 7700-cu. It's the best heatsink I've ever had. It's completely quiet and keeps your processor VERY cool. 120mm fan on that baby :D
I don't think I can praise it enough, still waiting to test how it handles overclocking.

Well i got the processor for free. 1.8 p-4 socket 478. I built my entire computer for less than 500 bucks and thats with a 90 dollar case! if you cut down some things you could build a decent comp for like 350 bucks. Now it wouldnt be pretty or be the greatest but my rig will run half life 2 doom 3 farcry all the new games that are out.
