automatic scandisk when startup

When i startup my windows xp it always automatically do the scandisk and i have to wait 15-20 minute to go in. I din do any scheldule at the startup .Please help me to solve this problem.

are you shutting the computer down properly through start >> shutdown >> shutdown (if windows) and if you are does windows give you any error messages about not being able to shut down any programs?

Disable SCANDISK on startup

Hard drive probably has bad sectors on it and may eventually go.
