Missing Windows Files??

Some odd things are happening when i run Windows Media Player 10, no matter which CD i use, after about 10-15 Seconds of play, my entire computer starts to skip, like its freezing, but it doesnt freeze, it just skips on and off. Im thinking there are windows files missing? anyone have any ideas?

rollback the windows media player back to 9 series. After that, reinstall windows media player 10.

i suggest re installing wmp10, or using winamp.
