samsung harddrive problem

i recently purchased a 160 gig OEM harddrive off newegg and i am in the middle of installing... my computer however will not let me format this drive within windows, it does not have a drive letter so using a command prompt is no help... the drive shows up in device manager... i am afraid i must admit i have limited knowledge with OEM harddrives. i do realize i must format it and give it a file format for windows to use it, but how can i do this?

all is set to auto in the BIOS and it detects it there... but no luck otherwise.

it is set to cable select

i thought you are suppose to set it to slave?

cable select automatically lets the system set them for you
but it is a moot point now
i found partition magic on kazaa and now ive got it up and runnin just fine, thanks anyways for the help man
