There seems to me to be alot of problems around which could be solved with a decent diagnostic program.

Is there such a thing?

How can some one check out there memory, sound card, graphics etc?

Dr watson and dxdiag don't seem to be too thorough.

How is this done commercially?

Most people can't afford to buy new parts for diagnostic purposes.

Any one help?

If you have a name brand machine, There may be diags for that particular model. ex. HP machines sometimes come with model specific diagnostics. Other wise some of the individual component manufacturers have diags for there products. ie. Western Digiatal. You may want to see if your products have any of these. You may not find them all but eliminating a few possibilities will go along way in diagnosing the problem. As for a complete package i know of none.
