pity that an x850 costs like $900..... a 3500 + the gskill memory would ezily bring it over the budget...

ok my bad, not an x850. an x800 would work though. 3500 is 300, 6800gt/x800 is about 450. gskill ram is about 250. that leaves about 500 left for everything else, and all the other stuff is cheaper, like hard drives, opticals, etc.

so i wouldn't be talking about crappy advice. btw, learn how to spell easily. it sure as hell ain't ezily

That would make for one lightning fast computer. I wouldn't worry about overclocking at all, there is NO NEED TO. I don't know why jnev_89 suggests it, but that computer can fly on its own.

This sounds good except that you likely have a legal version of XP home. I would look at the DFI lanparty mobo instead of the MSI though. I would also check out different power supply's.

With this amount of money, you can get a sweet comp. You can save the extra to buy another 6800GT later for SLI.

^^^i think this is the best way to go. you would have a killer system and 300 extra to spend on case,psu, and monitor.

do you guys recommend the eVGA GeForce6800GT PCI_Express or would you guys chose the Raideon X800 Platnium Edition for $100 dollars more. I've it's supposed to be one of the best video cards out there.

The 6800GT is a better buy and better than the x800XT PE's in many ways.

Also, you can later buy a second for SLI.

But is SLi really worth the investment? an SLi system is $800 at least by itself, not to mention the motherboard and RAM needed to back it up. the 6800GT 256MB is prolly the best bang for the buck out there. it can easily be overclocked to Ultra speeds (should u want to).
