Hi, I have a problem, I have a toshiba external hard disk but its light is already red. When I insert it into the USB port Windows says UNKNOWN device although it was good before now I still enable to deal with it.
please, I need someone who can help me.

try and go in control panel, and add hardware. and see if that works

What are your computers specs? Your externam HD might only be compatable with USB 2.0. Find out what USB you have. If you have 2.0, and the HD needs 2.0 to work, you should be fine.

YES,I have USB 2.0.
I also went to Control Panel but it still doesn't work.
I tried to reinstall it at device manager it doesn't reinstall.

Every thing is good its socket was bad,so I must change the
cover.
