AVG, Antivir, or other antivirus?

I have been pleased with AVG, especially since the update to version 7.0, which seems to give updates much more often. I just built a new machine, so I'm thinking of trying Antivir on it, because a thread in another forum said that AVG's detection rate is only about 68% or so, as opposed to Antivir's of somewhere around 90%, I think.

Any experiences or advice? It seems to be a hard thing to evaluate, although I know I at least don't have any super-crippling viruses that would totally kill the machine.

It's by Computer Associates, and includes a great Anti-virus program and a firewall (ZoneAlarm). It says 30 day trial, but they were giving a year last I heard.
