System im building for a friend

im building a custom system for one of my friends. here are the specs

AMD socket 939 3000+
1 stick of samsung 512 m
Graphics card tbd
ABIT an8 pci-e
80 gig hitachi sata 7200 rpm
Silver raidmax case
copper cpu fan tbd

total cost $650 let me know what you think i should change.

Looks pretty good, except i would drop the SATA for IDE since your on a budget.

I like, but like Chris said, unless you are willing to pay a lil extra or can find a sweet ass deal, stick with IDE.

I dont think dropping the SATA is a good idea. SATA is not very much. So stick with it, unless money is a huge issue. Basically, if you want a HDD, then you better get SATA, or if you want a AMD64, get socket 939. Or for any other processor, you always want a mobo that supports dual channel memery.

Thats just smart shopping. IDE is pretty much junk. SATA is not ALOT faster, but HDD are so big now. That any increase is needed.
