new video card

ya i installed a gforce 4 4200
now i got major shadows on my desktop icons and the windows i open.
wtf?
any help or sharpening this would be appreciated

this is more like an icon or window "echo" not a graphic shadow
like the image is echoing again and again to the right across my desktop
thanks for any help on clearing this and making it sharper

a screen shot would not show the shadowing because those are artifacts. they are not supposed to be displayed. the only way he could show it to you is by video recording it with a webcam or something.

rantzid i still do not understand what you are trying to describe to us. but if the shadowing is too dark it could be from the "smooth edges of screen font" setting.

please right click on an empty spot on your desktop and select "properties"

the display properties box is shown. click the tab called "appearance" at the top. click the effects button.

uncheck "use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts"

let me know if this fixed your problem

drivers are what came with the card and the update from xp

actually a screenshot does show it
lemmie email you the jpeg and you can look at it
ill try the font smoothing deal first tho

ya the font smoothing is off cause i set my shit for best performance so it takes that crap off
so if you wanna see it post your email and ill mail you the jpeg so you can see what i mean
