Dual 6600GT's on a Gigabyte GV-3D1 mobo....$550 @ Newegg

The dual 6600GT GPUÂ’s on a single card is a good idea, but it fails in implementation.

You have to have a sli board which already comes with two 16x slots. In fact you need the board that comes with it as no one else has suitable drivers to trick the mobo into seeing two 6600gt cards instead of one.
And a single 6800GT (which costs slightly less even with a good motherboard in the price tag) out performs it.

Could have been great but you can't use the SLI with that card. Yea in a way it's running in SLI with it but what I mean is that's the one and only card that you can use at once. You can't use two of them, if you could that would be wicked. So if you wanna upgrade later then you gotta ditch the 3D1 card and get another one or 2 if you wanna go SLI. So waste of money in my opinion.
