Hi i have a AMD athlon Xp 2700+ (333) seems to run at 60 degrees running on stock heatsink and fan is it ment to run so high and is this near die temp?

no it shouldnt be near that temp, thats quite strange.. what other cooling do you have in your case ???

Umm 1 system fan at the back blowing in its about 2785rpm
Cpu fan runs about 4200rpm
and i modded the side of the case and added another system fan that currenly takes air out

gee weird, is it overclocked at all ?

wait, just have to check.. are u talkin F or C temps?

60C is a bit too high. my 2400+ XP would run 64C idle with just stock cooler and no case fans, lowest I got it was like 55C...I'd invest in an aftermarket heatsink, with a good fan and some AS5 just to increase CPU life if nothing else

Well u see its under a desk in a little space a tight squeeze as well, but when it's a cold day/night the temps just drop heeps like under 50

Per AMD:

Model 8 "Thoroughbred"
Model 2700+
Operating Freq.(MHz) 2167 MHz
Clock Multiplier 13x
Nominal Voltage 1.65v
FSB Freq.(MHz) 333 MHz
Max Die Temp 85 Degrees Celsius
