Would a 400 watt power supply be enough to power the Sapphire Radeon X850 XT 256MB Platinum Edition? I know the Nvidia cards are power hungry, but is 400w enough for this card? Appreciate any help.

I would go higher than 400watt, maybe get an antec true 550 watt and you should be good.

:)

Do you think a 450 watter would do? the comp im thinking of buying has a 450 watter in the case...and i have not intention of overclocking my comp.

It'll be fine...i think. There are of course hardcore pplz who think that if you're gunna spend that much money on a graphics card, you'd bust out the exttra $50 fo a specialized power supply....

Im looking to save every penny i can. id rather not bust on a 500 watter if i dont need it. il stick with the 450 watter :)

PSU's that come with cases are crap. You need a 450w with a strong +12v rail which I doubt that one will have. This is the powerhouse of your computer, you don't want to skimp out here.

I suggest nothing less than 20a rated +12v line.
