does via chipset like ati?

My mobo has the VIA chipset, and the ATI I bought would not work with it. I fought it for three days. Finally took it back and bought the card I have now...a lot older, but no problems whatsoever.

I cannot speak for all, however. This is my personal experience.

Upto this day I have only used VIA chipsets and ATI cards in my home system.

Never had a problem once with any configuration. Never.

The issue that you are having must be related to something else.

Go with AMD.

The chipset manufacturer will not have an impact on visual processing.

I can guarantee you that the issue between VIA and ATI is only a rumour.

My mobo is an old one, so the chipset is a very old model. I figure the new ones have settled any issues.
