Moniter quality..

I am about to build a new computer and i was wondering what affect a cheapo CMV monitor would have on gaming, etc...

Cheap monitors generally mean crappy contrast/brightness ratios, and usually don't support higher resolutions and refresh rates and will generally give out much faster.

I have a crappy dell monitor that is so dark that if feels like every game is doom3 now... I just bought a NEC 22" flat screen and the difference is like night and day.

I have 2 different 18" monitors hooked up right now (Viewsonic and a Techsan) and I had to downgrade the settings on the Viewsonic just have the same brightness, contrast, etc... Spend your money wisely and get a good monitor, but do your research first. Brand names are not always the best ones to get...
