Hey im thinking of getting this ram. its dirt cheep at $149 aus when geil value ram that i have at the moment is $129.

runs ddr400 2-2-2-5
runs ddr550 3-4-4-8

is this worth it as an upgrade?
i can flog my ram for 115 probebly so should i do it?

Well for DDR400, 2-2-2-5 is good. Since its better then what you have, and you found a good price. You might as well. But i do know you are still on stock cooling. I would really like to see you get some type of cooling system.

yea i have been wondering about that but the problem is that my mobo doesn't have vcore high enough to stress my cooler much

Not really. The computer will run better because of having 1gb of RAM, but the whole fact of '6.4gb/sec' with dual channel isn't really true. DC gives you anywhere from 5%-20% increase in performance. Do a sandra bench and you'll still only have like 3000/2800 in the benches. At DDR500 however you should see around 3800/3600 gb/sec bandwidth rate
