reseting cmos/bios watever it is..

the BIOS holds the hardware configuration of your computer. CMOS is a utility that lets you edit the configuration of the BIOS.

if something happens like your computer does not boot or you get no video signal, resetting the CMOS will clear the BIOS and the settings will revert back to a defaulted failsafe setting, well at least that is my understanding of it. you might want a second opinion :eek:
