Today we put cable sleeving on all our wires in the computer. Connected everything back up, turned on the PSU, and hit the computer's power button... nothing. We've checked that everything is plugged in completely, and we're pretty sure everything is connected that needs to be.

The PSU emits a slight high-pitched noise when we turn it on. Nothing happens when we hit the power button on the comp, though. It just keeps making that high noise... doesn't boot up, doesn't beep, doesn't do anything at all.

Have we killed our PSU? Is there something we forgot to do? What can we do to troubleshoot?

<edit> The noise might be coming from the mobo, not the PSU... can't tell where, sounds like somewhere around the processor... </edit>

No... actually, we figured it out... turns out we didn't put two wires back into their plastic connector, and they were touching each other, thus shorting the system. Put them into their connector, hit the power, and voila! Worked great. *thumbs up*
