I am switching computers and the old one has a lot of Windows Updates (hotfixes...) and Norton Updates.

Is there a way to copy these files on to CD-R or DVD-R so when I switch the copmuter, I can use them again?

I am running;

Windows XP Pro
Norton System Works 2004
Norton Internet Security Pro 2003

Thanx

Go in and get a history of what you have done as far as windows updats (it is a listing after you get to Windows Updates). Then go to http://tinyurl.com/6oxg and find the cooresponding hotfixes and download them to a folder and save them.

As for Norton, I THINK you can but I don't know if it's doable, if you use the manuale update feature...but that would ONLY be the A/V definitions. You would be better off just letting that one update afterwards. Liz

Does that mean that I have to download everything again?

I am trying to copy them so that I will not have to download them again on the other copmuter (I have dial-up internet)

If I have to download everything again, then Ill just do automatic updates on the new one

Heres the best way for the updates. Have MS send you a free cd of SP2 that way you will never haveto download it again. As for Norton, that's usually just 1 to 2 files to download around 4 to 6mb each and your done.
