B BASSMAN11 Beta member Messages 2 Oct 10, 2003 #1 I am trying to access the command prompt on a Compaq computer. I need to fix the MBR. I cant find anyway to access it. When I hit f8 it doesnt give me a boot menu. Is there another way to do this? It is running XP.

L Lostman Daemon Poster Messages 753 Oct 10, 2003 #2 d/l a win98 boot disk. Reboot with the disk in the drive. That'll take you to a dos prompt.
