Ok, so when i bought the pc i ordered kingston memeory 2x512 pc3200 (400mhz). When i went to go pick it up i even got the boxes and everythign. Now i run everest and see my memory modules coming up like this:

SPD Memory Modules:
DIMM1: Samsung M3 68L6423ETM-CCC
512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (3.0-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz)
(2.5-3-3-7 @ 166 MHz)
DIMM2: Samsung M3 68L6423ETM-CCC
512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (3.0-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz)
(2.5-3-3-7 @ 166 MHz)

So heres my question, wtf do i have in my system? Is it kingston or is it samsung and the main this is it the right speed? I havent had a chance to open the box up and check the brand name on the module yet, i will try first thing next week as i wount be around for the weekend. Hopefully this is just everest reading the module brand incorrectly.

THX.

Kingston buys their chips from samsung and just saulders (w/e) them onto a PCB they bought from someone else.

Also, their not running at the right speed. Go into bios and set the CL latency to 3.0 since your at 2.5, and raise your multiplier for ram 2:1

would that speed them up? I guess it would or else you wouldnt have written it. :S

I don't think they are running at the wrong speed. 200MHz is the correct speed since it is DDR RAM.

Is there a site or anywhere that i can find out that kind of information? I'd like to know for sure before making any changes to the bios.
