Ok, this is my first post - bear with me:
Here's my problem. I have Gateway Laptop i've been working on that i just can't seem to figure out - there's no audio.
Running WinXP Pro, the XP drivers are installed and fuctioning correctly (according to windows) - checked all volume bars, sliders, dials ... everything! But still no audio.
I tried different applications like media player and winamp - but still no audio. I checked for a physical volume knob (like my toshiba has on the front) - nothing like that.
The customer says she was playing some music, plugged in a set of really old speakers and it just stopped.
Do you think it may be possible that the audio portion on the motherboard got fried because of the speakers? That's what it's all coming down to.
Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
