i was also wondering, would that dvd drive play cd-roms or just burn copies of cd's, and could it play dvd's..

or should i just buy a computer from circuit city for 800 and get 3.0 ghz and 200 gb's of ram... ??

Yea DVD drives are backwards compatible with all forms of CDs. You won't be able to burn CDs with the Plextor 12X DVD+/-RW Drive, Black, Model PX-712SA/SW-BL, Retail but you will be able to read them.

If dual socket celerons are available, my friend and I are definatly going to get them LOLZ (im serious)
