this might seem like a noob question but with these boards that have Nvidia chipsets will ATi cards still work?

also there are only about 4 boards I can choose from on newegg for socket 939 pci express, the a8n and a8v is out of stock
so I'm leaning towards the Chaintech right now

also what the heck are PCI-express X1 slots for? anything good I can toss in there? :p

SETUP CURRENTLY LEANING TOWARDS (check it out and give suggestions!):

Power Supply: Antec 24pin True 550W -$122

Motherboard: Chaintech Nvidia NForce4 Ultra for AMD socket 939 -$109
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-152-049&depa=1
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ socket 939 -$180
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-500&depa=1

total cost: $411

A bit over the budget I suggested but I can cut back to a 3000+ also I guess, just that someone suggested the 3200+ is a lot better for overclocking.

Tell me what you think. :p

why does it always cut off my links?!¿ :grind: :grind: :grind: :grind: :grind: :grind:

The 3000+ is fine. I've gotten them from 1.8 GHz to 2.6 GHz on air.

For the broken links, try using tinyurl.com

I'm mainly concerned about the mobo, is that one a good pick? like I said the ones suggested are out of stock
